Built for Circumnavigation
An Antares Story
story by Cindy and Raleigh

"After decades of racing monohulls, Cindy and Raleigh bought (and sold) three French catamarans before discovering that Antares builds the perfect cruising platform. “We liked hull #20, the Canadian built 44, so much that we splurged on a new Antares built out of Argentina.” Their experience with the first Antares made them appreciate the newer boat’s 40 hp engines, in-mast furling main, glass windshield with wipers, and other improvements while staying true to Ted Clements’ design that had been so successful. In Cindy’s words: “Cinderella XVI became our magical carriage as we sailed home from St. Lucia, stopping to explore eight Caribbean Islands. Since then, we have enjoyed cruising the Bahamas, Intracoastal Waterway, New England, and many delightful anchorages in between.”
Now it’s time to pass Cinderella on to its next owners. Based on how this Antares is outfitted and how it was maintained and cared-for, it will be a turnkey process. It will be hard to find another late-model Antares with such low engine hours (still under warranty), new main sail, loaded with tools and spares, great electronics, wood in excellent condition and so ready for cruising.
