Yet Another Reason to Own a PDQ!

While regrettably our schedule didn't allow us to organize a Flotilla this year, we're thrilled to know that PDQ 34 powercat owner Chet White (PDQ 34 Allezcat-II) has taken up the baton and is coordinating a Flotilla to the Abaco Islands, Bahamas for this coming May.

The flotilla will follow a similar laid-back atmosphere giving you the opportunity to join in organized dinners and cruise in and out of a loosely scheduled agenda. This gives new owners the security of traveling as a group in a new cruising territory in a social and relaxed environment.

Coming into Hopetown

Long-time PDQ owner is a Flotilla enthusiast and is acting on the consensus of other owners who expressed interest during the PDQ owner’s rendezvous in Stuart. They all decided a trip to the Abaco Islands was in order.

As with all cruising plans, nothing is cast in stone. Participants are free to join any of the organized events and visit the many wonderful islands of the Abacos between our informal gatherings including Alans-Pensacola, Crab Cay, Great Sale Cay, Treasure Cay, Great Guana, Little Harbor and more.

The first planned event will be in Green Turtle Cay: May 8,9,10

The second event will be in Man O War or Hopetown: May 15,16,17

The third and last event will be in Marsh Harbor or Hopetown: May 23, 24, 25

Chet plans to cross from Lake Worth to West End and clear in at Old Bahama Bay on the 4th-5th of May (weather depending, of course). Other boaters have discussed visiting the Berrys before (or after) the flotilla. Return will likely be the end of May from West End to Lake Worth.

We don’t have to go on about how wonderful the Abaco Islands are, but if you need a reminder, here are a few photos of our past Island Smilin' Flotilla…
